SPAM SCAM!

Posted on Jan 29th, 2007 by jodi : community grassroots inspirer jodi
Hi everyone!

We are having a problem with a scam artist. He uses the aliases 'willi' and 'simon' or variations of these. He is a Nigerian419 scammer and has been sending spam messages to try and scam people in our community.
Please look out for this and be aware. If you come across anything like this, please contact me ASAP.

Here is an example of a letter he has been sending out:
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
My dear friend,

My name is William simon I am impressed with the level
of clean spiritedness poeple show in this Zaadz site,
this is why iam hoping to get someone who I can trust
over here, as I have been searching for few days now
and i am skeptical of whom to chose, though i am left
with little choice, as this site is the nearest to
the place i can get good person.and my health
condition is critical.

I have got some friends here who wanted to assist me in this quest, but their motive is mostly selfish and purely profit based, This ofcourse is contrary to my goal to render service to humanity, which is my dream and objectives for a make up.

I have been diagnosed with Esophageal cancer, It has defiled all forms of medical treatment, and right now i have only about a few months to live, according to medical experts.
I have not particularly lived my life so well, as I never really cared for anyone(not even myself)but my business. Though I am very rich, I was never
generous, I was always hostile to people and only focused on my business as that was the only thing I cared for. But now I regret all this as I now know
that there is more to life than just wanting to have or make all the money in the world.
I believe when god gives me a second chance to come to this world I would live my life a different way from how I have lived it. Now that God has called me, I have willed and given most of my property
and assets to my immediate and extended family members as well as few close friends.

I want god to be merciful to me and accept my soul so, I have decided to give alms to charity
organizations, as I want this to be one of the last good deeds I do on earth. So far, I have distributed money to some charity organizations in the Oman, Algeria and Malaysia. Now that my health has deteriorated so badly, I cannot do this myself anymore. I once asked members of my family to close
one of my accounts and distribute the money which I have there to charity organization in Bulgaria and
Pakistan, they refused and kept the money to themselves. Hence, I do not trust them anymore, as
they seem not to be contended with what I have left
for them.

The last of my money which no one knows of is the
huge cash deposit of eighteen million dollars 18,000,000 that I have with a finance/Security Company abroad. I will want you to help me collect this
deposit and distribute $5M to Charity under your supervision,
while I entrust another $5M to another person whom you may
recomend or I may source for and the remaining $8M you will use to set up a charity home.

Do not think I am crazy, I am only wishing if only I
have another life to live.

Remain blessed.

Hi Jodi:  Thanks for this critically important scam alert.  These NIgerian scams have been around for some time, and have resulted in the loss of billions of dollars from caring people (like us) who get hooked into them.  I would urge anyone who wants to see the history of this to do a Google Search on “Nigerian Scams.”  Of course, now these are being done from other countries as well, but the Nigerians perfected the form.  The whole phenomena is one to be meticulously alert to, and I am glad you posted the full message because any scam of this kind will have variations on this theme.  Good work! Thanks.H.

Also remember to use the 'report spam' button if you receive mail like this. The Zaadz team is on top of it. But we need help in being notified whenever something like this pops up!
Thanks for the input H!
